Paulis, a harmonious blend of the Greek word "Polis" (city) and the legacy of the Paul family name, encapsulates not merely a real estate endeavor but an ethos deeply rooted in the spirit of a city. Embarking on its journey in 1986 under the visionary leadership of Mr. Dulal Chandra Paul, affectionately known as D C Paul, the company took root in the barren expanse of Kolkata named Salt Lake. Over the decades, it has not only gained recognition for its aesthetically pleasing designs and innovative utilization of spaces but has also actively contributed to the development of Salt Lake into a prominent residential locality in Kolkata.
Mr. Prasanta Paul, the second son of D C Paul, joined the business in his early youth, supporting his father who single-handedly managed the family enterprise. Despite nearly a decade of collaborative growth, a transformative moment occurred in 1998 when Mr. Prasanta Paul decided to embark on his separate venture, naming it D C Paul Group Construction Pvt Ltd, still honoring his father's legacy.
In the span of three decades, Mr. Prasanta Paul emerged as a key player in Kolkata's infrastructural growth. Notable contributions include iconic projects such as Jahaj Bari, Anandalok Hospital, Salboni Housing Complex, and Shantibon Complex. His economical aesthetic approach to real estate led to the establishment of Bengal D C Paul in 2006, in collaboration with the West Bengal Housing Board, focusing on constructing housing solutions for diverse income groups.
Venturing into new realms, Mr. Prasanta Paul utilized his expertise to establish Hotel De Sovrani, a four-star business hotel. Unfortunately, after a brief battle with cancer, Mr. Paul passed away in 2012. Despite the company's esteemed stature, the abrupt change in leadership structure led to a temporary slowdown in operations in the subsequent years.
In 2020, a new chapter unfolded as Ms. Kamalini Paul, Mr. Prasanta Paul's daughter, rejuvenated D C Paul with a renewed vision and core values, christening it Paulis Designs. Educated in UK, Ms. Paul perceived a need for significant innovation in India's real estate market. Her mission was to redefine how real estate was perceived, creating a space for authentic, simple, and transparent operations.
With a visionary approach to meld concrete with natural surroundings, Ms. Paul ventured into sustainable architecture, aspiring to create biophilic designs. Today, the company, blending years of expertise with a modern and urban architectural approach, is making significant strides in the Bengal economy, contributing to infrastructure growth. one project at a time.
